I have seen the end result after they are destroyed:


But what are the symptoms when one (or both) is starting to go bad?

Hope someone with an A4 chimes in. I have an A4 and just shy of 400 hp at the wheels. I beat the heck outta my car. If there is a tell tale warning sign I would love to know as well.

Tell us about your car...what mods, what did you do in order for it to happen, how many miles are on it, how much rwhp does it have... ya know, all the good stuff.

Those pix are not from my car (I'm not that lucky ). I just have a mysterious vibration (at times) when accelerating from a steady speed. I haven't fully narrowed it down, but it seems to happen most often at highway speed in OD when accelerating "briskly" -- IOW, enough so that it creates a load, but not so heavy footed that it downshifts. I'm just wondering if it might be a symptom of one or both torque tube bushings going west.

As for my car, depending upon which dyno chart you go by... I have between 482-490rwhp and 472-500rwtq, NA, thru a mild tc w/ a built tranny and 3.15 gears.
