Everything was going fine. The rear end lowered in 5 minutes, the left front in 10 minutes, but the right front adjuster will not break loose. I put a jack under the leaf spring to releave the tension and everything. I sprayed the bolt with Sili Kroil and will let it sit for a few days and try again.
Any other advise you guys can give me would be great.
Wish I Could Help...i Have Not Lowered The Front Yet Because They Did Not Give Me A Lugnut Key When I Bought The Car. THE ONLY THING I COULD SAY IS THAT THERE IS TENSION ON IT THE BOLT...DID U DOUBLE CHECK THAT THERE WAS NO TENSION ON IT>
Before you get out the blowtorch or the high explosives. Look at this Tech Tip. It has some good pics and easy to follow instructions on how to completely remove the lowering bolt if you decide to cut the bushings.
I let her sit for 2 days soaking and tried again last night with a 3/8 drive 6pt socket and she still won't budge. I applied more Sili Kroil and will try again tonight. If I can't break it loose tonight, I'll give up.
You need to make sure the rubber bushing pad is off the spring. Some methods to do this are to jack up the front end only (rear tires on ground), rear tires on ground and opposite front tire on ground. Mainly anything to make sure the bushing is off of the spring. Then you can work on turning the bushing end rather than the 10mm stud end.
BTW, cool avatar! Built/flew a Long Ez back in the late 80s-90s.
Did you try as Mike said earlier to attack the bolt from the bottom?
Get a set of vice grips or channel locks and grip the bolt on the metal part of the bushing below the spring. There is a lot more surface there.
Crank it back and forth in opposite directions. It should break loose. Not all do but most do.
Don't give up!!
