Default Changing Wheels - Question

I am taking off my stock '98 wheels and putting on a set of Y2K high polished ones. Will I have to buy new lug nuts or will my stock ones work with the new wheels ? Thanks for any advice !

The lug nuts will work fine, but I beleive you will have a problem if you want the lug nut covers. I believe that the older lugs were not threaded on the outside, so therefore cannot accept the threaded covers. Check your lug nuts and see if they are threaded on the outside of the nut. If they are not, then I suggest buying new lug nuts (the Y2K polished wheels would look terrible with bare lug nuts). I also suggest you order some of the chrome lug nut covers from Mid America instead of using the stock grey covers. They look much better with the polished wheel.

As a matter of fact, if you have to buy new lug nuts anyway, you might check out some solid polished nuts. I think Batman got a set.

I just swaped out my 99 wheels for 01 Hi-Polished wheels yesterday. Yes, your old lugs will work, but they will look like crap. You'll need to buy the lugs that are threaded to accept the plastic wheel nut caps. This is what I did. I didn't buy chromed lug nuts because they seem to always rust where the socket bites into them during installation.
