Default Is this normal for battery drain?

I am having trouble with my battery draining from 12.5 to 12 volts in 5 days. I checked the drain with an amp meter. When I first hooked the meter up the draw was .4 amps after 15 minutes it dropped to .02 amps. The .02 amp should be ok for draw. Is it normal to have high draw for about 15 minutes after the battery is first hooked up. This is on a 2003.

Sounds normal Takes a few minutes for all the electronics to "go to sleep."

also, even when "asleep" the computers continue to "talk" to each other so the drain never goes to zero.

While checking the draw, was your underhood lamp illuminated? That will remain on for 15 minutes, then turns off.

The C5 computers drain about 30 milliamps. The car can sit for 3 weeks and the battery should have enough juice to start the car.
