New motor break in.

Dropping in a new short block next week and was wndering what is typical break in period for a short block. Also how can I get a dyno tune if I am breaking in the block?

im doing a break in on my 408 right now.

IM running castrol gtx 10w-30 (no synthetic for break in)

Change at 200-250 miles
Change again at 500 miles
Change and go to synthetic of choice at 1000

Then you done.

Vary the RPM and stay away from WOT and sustained speeds for the first couple hundred. Let it warm up and cool down completely during the process. Then just put a couple hundred more fairly easy miles on it. After 500-750 miles DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT.
