Default Yank 3000???????

Does anybody know if the Yank stealth 3000 has to be tuned! I have a head and cam job done with stock TQ and was going to buy a 3000 Stall. Anyhelp I would appreciate.

Also, I have a efi tune running off stock idle with a 228-222 Comp cam on a 114.5 LSA.

Don't waste your time and money on the Stealth 3000. The Stealth is really nothing but a heavy modified stock T/C. Get at least the Yank SS3200 with the SS3600 being even better since you have H/C.

Mitch

I don't want it to feel lose like my old 3200 stall! from 0-40 Mph is felt like ****! That why I was asking about the 2800 and the 3000! Also, do I need to have a tune done after the install or is it plug and play!

That is my main concern.

3,000 stealth may be a little slower to rev up. However, it is just as efficient as smaller units and is more robust. Call Yank and ask.

Which 3200 did you have originally? The yank SS3200 should feel very tight.
You want to know loose, try driving with my YPT4400.

You should not feel too loose with the SS3200 or SS3600 if you are running at least 3.42 gears. What 3200 & gears were you running before? If you were running 2.73 or 3.15 gears that might be the reason you felt looseness with your prior 3200 T/C. Yes you should have a tune done for the best part throttle driveability & performance.

The reason the Stealth 3000 is slower to rev up is because it weighs 52 lbs compared to about 30 lbs. for the SS3200 or 3600. The 13 inch Stealth is not as efficent as the 9.5 inch SS converters. All of the very best high performance T/Cs are 9.5 inches not 13 inches like the Stealth.

I had ans till have 3:42's and a Fuddle Racing 3200 Stall. It was terrible. I took it out! I am currently having knock retard and don't know how to fix that either. I need to find a good tuner near Wichita, Kansas. I am now regretting ever doing this H/C job!
