I did the strut replacement. It helped mine a little but it still doesn't pop up much as I'd like. If I have the doors open it helps a bit as crazy as that sounds..I do have a deck lid in that may be preventing it from popping up as much as one that doesn't have one.

Heres the link if you want to replace the struts. it only takes 5 minutes..

Common problem. Just about everyone seems to have this issue, and people have come up with their own creative solutions: opening/closing door to make it pop up; piece of plastic or credit card to lift; or my favorite, just don't open the trunk very often.

Cheers.

I installed the trunk struts and I can now reach my paws -- not just my nails -- under the deck lid to raise it. It was worth $50 to me and there's nothing to the install.

Before you replace anything, try wipeing down the strut (shiney chrome part)with WD and give all the hinges and pivot points a little shot. It makes a big difference. It doesnt seem to last forever so I just do it every month or so when the lid gets lazy.

Possibly the latch spring is weak/defective or needs adjustment. The latch spring should push on the catch attached to the trunk lid when the trunk is popped and raise the lid enough for you to get you fingers under it. Look inside the latch where the catch goes and you should see the latch spring. Sometimes adjusting or bending the spring slightly may fix the problem.

This problem is common for verts and can happen on the FRCs/Z06s as well. Good luck.

You can order them from www.zip-products.com and the installation is simple. See Mainagent's link above.
