Go with NGK's
Go with the NGK Iridiums. If you check with GM you'll see that they don't make (or recommend) platinum plugs for our cars any longer. Has to be a reason they stopped making and installing them.
I too have noticed a much smoother idle (changed the old platinums out at 46K). Went with new wires at the same time. The stock wires, IMHO were harder to get off the end of the plugs than the plugs were to get out of the block......
