I would like to get a nitrous kit. What do you guys recommend? I want the convenience of hitting a switch rather than kicking in at WOT. (I always WOT in 1st and 2nd).
What is the difference between 1 nozzle/2/4/1 per cylinder? A bit confusing...
Nitrous Express has an awesome kit. You can set it up to activate on the WOT switch or you can do it manually. Just buy another switch, mount it somewhere you can reach and HOLD ON when that nitrous hits!
I am hoping that you will be able to see our nitrous kits for sale in the Corvette Forum Mall tomorrow although it might take another day to finish.
Let me know if there is anything that I can do to help.
NX Express makes some great kits. You have the option of having hand activated or WOT activation switch. NX also has some neat add ons such as bottle opener, heater ect.
I got a TNT kit from TNT and and NX gen 2 kit from SpeedDemon MotorSports.
The install was easy.
It would be easy to replace the WOT switch with another push type button, but I think it would be better to use the TP sensor switch along with a window switch.
TNT uses two nozzles in a ring that fits in front of your TB (Wet system). The nozzles are in the 10 and 2 o'clock position. Nx may use one or two nozzles, I am not sure on the wet system. Some say that two nozzles distribute the mixture better. I really do not know, but that is what I hear. The ultimate would be direct port, but very expensive and only for hardcore engines.
I think ARE has a few TNT kits left??Maybe...SpeedDemon ..MattG et al have the kits.
I purchased a used (1 month old) NX Express kit from a forum member and saved about 25%. I purchased all the accessories (GenX2, remote bottle opener, rocker panel assembly, and MSD window switch) from MattG at Exit28 Motorsports. They are a supporting forum vendor, and MattG has provided a ton of helpful information during the several months I researched nitrous. I'm installing it myself, so I'll avoid the several hundred to $1K install price.
The accessories should be in next week...can't wait!!!
Thanks guys! Do you find the Nitrous to be as exciting as I hear? ...Like your passenger will absolutely go ghost white. Is this stuff really that strong?
YES, Nitrous is that exciting. I am about to put it on my recently purchased vette. I had it on my 2000 silverado ext. cab, and went 13.33 @ 104.5 in a 4500 lb vehicle with a 5.3 l motor with a 125 shot. Without the Juice, it ran a best of 14.82. On the 100 shot, i got a best of 13.5. Feels like a semi hit you from behind, and Yes, ive scared a few passengers.
i have taken many for a ride. i have a video tape that a passenger was filming while racing one night. when you watch the video all you see is street lines and light posts going by at a very alarming rate and the passenger swearing all kinds of excited expletives!! Nitrous is definitely ALL THAT. period. i recommend NX, too. high quality stuff. a wet system is best, also. i cant figure why anyone would want to spray dry?!?! too chancey if you ask me. the wet system will also allow you to jet higher than dry before you need to revamp the fuel system.
try john stewarts nitros warehouse, he has great prices on NX kits and is a hoot to talk to. I think it is simpler to just use and rpm window switch to activate the nitrous. It is easy to change the rpm at which you want to activate and also deactivate. I have mine set to hit at 3000 rpms and shut off at 6000.
dont limit your choice to Nitrous warehouse. Call Accurate Auto in Phx, Az at 480.854.3104, ask for Jerry. He's the biggest NX dealer in Az and can be very competitive on $$. + he knows TONS about N2O (he's a professional gearhead).
Nitrous is awesome. You can immediately tell a HUGE difference when you hit the button. NX rules, the throttle switch only works when you turn on the activation switch.
