I got my stuff tossed last night at the track... 99 cobra, 304rwhp on DR's and 4:53's... put like 5 cars on me out of the hole.. ya i pulled him all the way... but when it was done he was car ahead... I spun down the track all through first and when i hit 2nd i bust my rear loose and almost lost complete control... I saved it and finished chasing him down...
SO i need some dr's yesterday... I want to put htem on my Y2k's... but i couldn't find anything on tirerack.com that fit.. my current RF's are 275/40Zr18's
Try Nitto 555R's in size 285/35-18. This compound makes a HUGE difference over stock runflats. They also make 555R-2's, which is the same compound, but with a stiffer sidewall, for better handling around turns and such. I have the above-mentioned size on my Y2K's in the R-2's and they hold my 450+ rwhp all the way through first with TC off....my runflats used to just spin over 4000 rpm's with TC on! I got mine at discounttiredirect.com and it was the best price i could find anywhere.
wait.... sorry i'm not a tire expert.. but if i go 285/35 what does that do for my speedo?
I have been running them for about a month now with stock sized fronts (245/45-17) and I have had no problems at all. It won't throw off your traction control or speedometer at all.
