Default Walbro 255 install question???

I need to replace my fuel pump. My question is do I need to use the stock c5 fuel strainer/sock or use the one that comes with the pump. From what I have noticed is that the stock strainer is large and flat. It looks like it would help aid the fuel pump in its operation.

Im confused by your post because the only options I have heard about for us are the LPE and Racetronix pumps that come with buckets. Sounds like you picked up a Walbro and fit it into the stock bucket?

In any case I would use the C5 specific filter sock and not the generic one that came with the Walbro you got. Thunder Racing has them. I got a new one when I got my Racetronix.

I allready have a walbro 255. Just wanted to know if it was better to use a stock style strainer sock. Where would be the best place to get one?

I replaced the stock with a Walbro 255 for an LS1. The sock was different, but it fit in the can, the electrical connector was identical and I have had no problems with it. I saw no way to swap the stock sock to the Walbro 255.
