LSI water pump, important
I installed a NEW GATES water pump approx 3 weeks ago, Less that 50 miles on it.
It started leaking at the weep hole.
Yes, it is under warranty, but I eat my labor, coolant and so forth for the new install..
THE IMPORTANT thing is that GATES has stopped producing LS1 pump,,,they have issues.
DO NOT use a GATES pump.
Even GATES replaced the pump with another brand of MFG.
HEADS UP,,,

Actually they replaced it wilth a GM pump,,,,,
So all is good.
Even so, I am told that GATES had a known issue with their pumps...
The price for the gates pump was 265.00,,,the replacement was 365.00
FWIW,,, the GM pump only had 24 k mile son it.. I am not so sure the GM stuff is too much better..lol

$ 365 for a water pump much include a huge Corvette tax. Of course Gates and other suppliers price such products by looking at the OEM price and discounting it a little, knowing they will still make a huge profit.
