did u use a adapter or spacer? my shop guy is telling me if i use a adapter the c5 lugnuts wont work
I did use the 1" adapter (billet alum). It comes with new lug nuts to bolt the adapter to your existing wheel hub. Then your existing lugs will go back on the new studs to hold the wheel. I have an 02, and that year they had the cheapie plastic threaded "bolt" caps that went over the real lugs. I replaced those with the cheapie chrome caps sometime back. I did take the plastic caps and trim them down so that when they went over the lugs, they didn't stick out as far. If you have the plastic caps that go over the lugs, you will need to use the lugs (your old nuts) that are threaded on the outside to hold the plastic caps in place.
Where can i find these "billet Alum" adapters??? my car guy wants to make (custom) adpaters for my car and the price hes quoting me is like 300 for a pair ( made out of steel)

Ebay is the place. I think it was called motorsports outlet...something like that. Do a search for wheel adapters for corvette...you'll get a couple of pages of sellers. Get the ones that are 1" wide and with the "concentric center" that little lip that centers your wheels on the hub when you install them. No way 300 bucks. I paid 61.00 shipped to my front door. Now, you will probably hear "you get what you pay for" because some of these vendors are buying stuff from overseas. But, it's advertised as 6061 billet aluminum with hardened studs. I can't imagine that it would cost a whole lot to turn a piece of aluminum on a lathe, sink ten holes in it and press five studs in. Im putting over 500 HP to the rear wheels, and they have'nt come off yet.
Maybe it's because I just woke up from a nap and my brain is still foggy but... why does this post bring me to visions of old Beavis and Butthead episodes?
thank you for your help.do u think i need front ones also?? my shop guy says they sit alittle too in.( i didnt see it)
The 1" adapters on the rear are going to bring your wheel out almost flush with the top of the fender. The fronts are pretty close to the c5 offset, too little of a difference for an adapter. It would be your call, but 1/4" spacer would work. I wouldn't go any more than a 1/4" to stay safe on the existing studs.
