been looking for shocks for my 2000, i have the zo6 swaybars on it, stock springs and currently have the bielstien sport shocks...i like the bilsteins but not really happy with the ride. not that the ride is too stiff but its harsh over bumps and i still dont feel its a great handling shock either.....
im looking at the HAL QA1 "C" series, around 250.00 each....12 adjustments and the adjustments can be done with the shock still on the car...ill probably do a couple of track days a year either at loudon (nhis) or lime rock and a bunch of drag races,,,,,,i drive the car just about all year long even here in massachusettes....are they worth it, will i notice a difference from the bilsteins??? can i soften up the ride for everyday use and then have better sport shocks than the bilsteins etc.....
I installed Hals shocks on my 99 in 2001 along with Hotchkis swaybars, wider wheels and tires. When in the north east I set them at 4 because of the bad roads and had a good ride. Were I am now they are set at 7 which gives a firm ride on the better roads although a little harsh over train tracks. On the road corse I have gone up to 10, at the drag strip I set the fronts at 2 and the rears at 11. If you do install Hals shocks your ride height will drop close to 1 inch.
ordered them , cant wait till they get here and check them out......will probably put my bilstein sport shocks up for sale since they are less than a year old and under 3k miles on them.....ill post my reactions on them once i get them installed and checked out..
Any word on the conversion to these HAL QA1 shocks?
the rears were on back order so i just got them a few weeks ago, but i love them...i wish i had adjustments for rebound and dampning seperate but other than that i ride around here near boston on them all set to 4 and the car rides better than my new nissan sentra...ive set them to 9 and they are heads and shoulders better than the bilstein sport shocks that i had...
I will be going to a track day at newhampshire speedway on july 10th so ill see how they are on the track, but even at 4 they are a great ride and still better handling than the stock shocks...

What improvement - 60' time - did you attain in the 'drag racing' mode?
How did you derive the 2 front 11 rear combination?
How does a shock absorber lower your ride height?

My 60's improved by about .05. Plus they eliminated my wheelhop.
I heard they affect ride height due to them not being a pressurized shock.

Watching your videos it appears that your car has a lot of weight transfer, I assume that is with the HAL shocks.
Is your front anti-sway bar connected?
What tires?
What short times?
The in car vid was with Hal's. Fronts on 2, rears on 8 or 9. Front sway bar was removed. IIRC, the 60' was a 1.50, or very close to it. The other video was from last year, that was probably a high 1.5 60', if not worse.
