Here is a note from Joe Prince as posted on ls1.com:
"Interested parties,
I know it's been a long time comming! I am finally satisfied with this product in Billet form, it functions perfectly. There has been more than extensive testing and a few fine tuning changes on this water pump unit to either prove it's worth in power gains or it's cooling effectiveness, this has been a long and frustrating road for me and the involved people on this seemingly endless project but I can say now, it is completed. The Billet unit will be the main production piece from JPR/JPF it is more cost effective, but expensive none the less, We have spared no expense to bring a high Quality product and competantly designed electric reverse cooled water pump unit to the end users of this LS1-LS6 and truck based market. Form, function, longevity, and pricing has always stayed in the fore front upon every design change to date. This end product is a first class designed part that I am proud to stand behind. The Feather light units most likely will not be available because they are too cost prohibitive to manufacture, unless there are people ready to pay over $700.00 for a unit.(I doubt it) I knew going into this project that we would make the end pricing as fair as posible without sacrificing any quality or reliability, this part has not been priced upon power delivery, It has been based on straight forward buissness pricing from production to the end user and there is NO gouging what so ever. When the final price is announced, We do expect to loose a moderate precentage of EWP audiance, so be it, Jay and I can't sell them anything under the soon to be posted price. It's my fault about the pricing not being posted today because I had one last minuite tensioner "Bosses" change and there is an extra machine/CNC program charge, I apoligize about that. This part will be fully mapped next week with the new change I made today for the tensioner pulley and we will be in limited production, then a full quota for those already spoken for, and a full production run very shortly.
"LS1 fun" please E-mail me. Thanks for all the great E-mail responces about this product!
Joe Prince. "

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
This mod is in my opinion geared towards more hardcore users. Those that run at the track alot and are trying to squeeeeeeeeezzzzeee out every last tenth. For a 90% street driven car, it would NOT be on my top ten list of mods.
Yeah I would not really want to take it to death valley, nor would I want to run my Halltech through a 2ft "puddle." :D
I would love to bolt on 15 hp but I use by car for more than 1/4 mile runs... like driving to the Gateway Intl. to watch the IRL cars run (like I did today) as well as showing up on a trailer to run the road course.
What's the real deal with this pump! Race (drag car) application or for street also. showing this pump installed on a F-body (maybe drag race car) is not what i'm wanting to see! I want something for my C5 that will work on the street and on the road course.
BTW: vendor on e-water pump was $380 and did you notice...no T-stat???

I researched this mod many months ago and found out the same result as you did... Not available for the street for one reason... They dont have a kit to re-route the S-belt. :bs
vetterdstr
The Jay Fisher and Joe Prince EWP is the one in the pics and is not out yet. I have been told by Joe that it WILL work just fine on a C5. Also, they have been testing the pump on the street for some time now. Fisher Price  told me that it will work on the street. Fisher/Prince EWP has a thermo housing and acc. mounts for the belts. BMW is switching to a similar design, a EWP pump.
No Fisher/Prince pumps are on C5's yet, I am on the list. It will work on the street/track/road race. They have been pounding the crap out of it during testing and have continuously improved its design (hence the delay when it goes back to remap for the CNC). The lowest RWHP they have seen using the pump was 15 RWHP with 30 RWHP being the top. Once it is released in late sept, fingers crossed, I will be testing it out. Word should spread rather quickly as to its viability.

I like the idea that you can run this pump without the engine running. This will come in very handy in the staging lanes at a track.
The weight loss advantage is also excellent, as well as the ability to run a bit more timing without the fear of detonation!
I definitely hope to have one of these on my car by next spring.
