door panel removal help
Guys,
Attempting to change the drivers window this morning, dont have the "trim tool" the serice book references. Can I get the door panel off without it? I certainly dont want to damage it....if I need the trim tool, will a regular parts store have one?

Go to www.vetteessentials.com. They have a lot of good pictorial instructions on installing their aftermarket items. I used thier instructional for Door Handle installation to remove my door panel.

You really don't need any special tools. Just pop off the little black cover behind the door pull and remove the two screws. Then start to pull door panel off at bottom corner where interior light is. You can use a putty knife (wrap some duct tape around blade) to slide behind. Just pull gently working you way around so that you don't break any of the pins. Lift up and disconnect wire connections. Presto you're done.

that tool is real cheap they sell them at most auto parts stores, its a wide forked deal. you can use any flat wide blade tool go slow the plastic pins are real brittle. make sure the are all lined up when you go to push it back together.
