Under Drive pulley/harmonic balancer woes...
Turned out to be the harmnonic balancer...so since it was an aftermarket design, I went to LGM, picked up a new ASP SFI certified pulley/balancer and two belts...took it to the dealer who was waiting for these things with the car still apart. When I purchased these parts from LGM, I was asked if this was for a C5. I said yes, it was an LS6 engine in a C5.
Problem is, dealer calls me while ago, and says this balancer will not fit my C5...too big, too deep, too tall, he says. I can't call LGM cause they're closed today for Memorial Day, just like all the other tuners...so I'm posting on here in hopes that someone from LGM, or any other tech who may be reading this, can give me some direction here, cause dealer's open today and willing to finish up my car, if they can just figure out what the deal is with this particular balancer.
Part# ASP 941020 according to the invoice.
TIA!
I don't understand why they keep saying this pulley is larger than the one that was on there. The one they took off was from 21MC and the AC pulley was a different size...I know that much, but don't understand what difference it makes anyway, since the part is designed for a Vette.
Don't know for sure if he just looked at it or tried to install it. I just called and left a msg. asking my contact there that very question.
I'll post up when he calls me back.
Invoice says #ASP 941020, but the part they handed me is
#ASP 948500...also verified by the part # on the part and the box.
I can't believe this...I drove all the way from Arlington to Wylie to get this part, and I asked the guy giving it to me if everything was correct, so I wouldn't have to return. It takes me 1-1/2hrs to get there, and Friday was my last day of vacation, and I need to be back at work @ 7:30 a.m. Tuesday a.m....meanwhile my car is still apart at the dealer like it has been for the last two business days.
Man, I can't believe this...this is going to cause me a huge problem Tuesday...all because someone didn't want to dbl check the part they were pulling! I guess I have to blame myself also, since I didn't check the part# against the invoice...but I shouldn't have to, that's their job.
If anyone from LGM is reading this, I need to know if one of you can run the correct balancer and belts over to Vandergriff Chevrolet in Arlington, Tuesday a.m., give them to Charles over there, and pick up the other balancer and belts to take back to LGM.
Somebody should own up to their mistake on this! Maybe Lou will read this and make someone take the part over to them...we'll see.

A big thanks to LGM for stepping up, and being responsible enough to rectify things! I really appreciate it, guys!
