I left the interior lights on last night on my 2004... (I know, I'm a dumbazz)and of course the battery ran down...duh(I'm a dumbazz)........can I charge the battery in place (I'm a dumbazz)or should I disconnect the battery first? Is one hour enough or should I charge it 2 hours?(again, I'm a dumbazz).
Thanks for your help,
Yours truly,
Dumbazz
Update...just found this informative section in the owner's manual...
"Battery Run-Down Protection"
Your vehicle has a feature to help prevent you from draining the battery in case the underhood lamp, vanity mirror lamps, cargo lamps, reading lamps, console or glove box lamps are accidentally left on, they will automatically timeout after about 15 minutes. To reset it, all of the above lamps must be turned off or the ingition key must be ON."
I have charged mine in place in the past with no adverse reactions. Since my C4 sits all the time it gets charged quite a lot, but I've done it on the C5 as well.

Just read your post on your starting problem...and I thought I had a problem
If you are gonna bring that puppy back in 1-2 hrs that means you must have a big charger. To be on the safe side pull it out. A battery tender is one thing, but it that much current is going in I would isolate the batt from the more expensive stuff. you don't want a little issue becoming a big one.

Tell me about it. Trying my last option now with a BCM relearn. Don't know where to go if that doesn't work other than to the dealer. Good luck with yours.
