Should be two screw holes in each light, one on the side and one going upwards. The spring is to help stabilize the light.
Sorry that I don't have any pictures. Easiest way to access the area would be to turn on headlights pull off battery cable and remove black bezel around light (3 screws).

Thank you - my BIG question now is: One end of the spring attaches to the light - where does the OTHER end of the spring attach to?
If you look straight up in the cavity where your light was you will see an attatchment point for the other end of the spring right above where the light sits..
I installed mine from the bottom of the car through the removable (5 or 6 10 mm bolts)close out panel
