Default Blackwing Fitment

Can I take a Blackwing Air Filter set up from an '01 Z06 and install on a stock '98?

You'll need the adapter (comes with new kits) for the different size MAF

Ok Thanks but what is an MAF? Where would you suggest that I could purchase an adapter?

I thought the adapter was for later years? Shouldn't the 01 Z have an adapter on it and then he just wouldn't need to use the adapter on the 98?

There is no adapter on my 2000.

The bit larger 85 MM MAF started with the 2001 models so if using with the older 75 MM MAF that special rubber coupler is not needed.

I could be wrong, but here's what I was thinking: He's going from a larger MAF (01+) to a smaller one (98), therefore he'll need the rubber insert that makes the hole smaller...right?

The Blackwing on my 99 is made for the larger MAF and it came with a small rubber insert, so that it could fit my MAF....Now that you guys got me thinking I'm going to have to take a look at it tonight, but that's how I recall it was setup.

....so my '98 is 75mm in diameter? I need to check if the one off the '01 Z06 is 85mm. Correct? It shouldn't be hard to find a round rubber adapter to make up that 10mm.(?)
