They will definitly make the exhaust louder. I would recommend Jet-Hot's long tubes. They come ceramic nickel coated inside and out and come without the Corvette tax. I paid $622 to my door. Oh, also you will not need the 02 sensor extensions with them.

Can you get those headers with hi-flow cats and x-pipe?

I got the Xpipe and RT hi-flo cats and connecting pieces from Corvette Garage in Texas. Full 3" SS system $568 to my door. The tubes are about 30-32"s and dump into 3" collectors. The 02 sensor bungs are far enough forward that the stock harness works.
Damn good headers with a damn good price texas speed performance for $650. If you really want to go all out go and get any used aftermarket x pipe for $150 and you've got yourself a steal of a deal for a header setup. Look at the length of these babies.. http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=658&catid=20
I had the foresight to do a before and after video when I was getting my LG Motorsports LT Pro headers installed. You can hear the difference in tone in the videos. This is a 2002 Z06 and I retained the stock titanium mufflers. The "after" is with the new headers, high flow cats, and X-pipe.

I'll try to post some videos/sound clips of my C5 with Borla Stingers and the LG Street system on it without cats. Sounds mean as hell above 3000 rpm but its still decently quiet on the highway and around town if you don't give it more than 25% throttle. There is a bit of resonation now that I didn't have before, but its still far better than SLP straightpipes on a stock manifold.
Low to mid the car is deeper and more throaty (sounds like a Mustang Cobra or GT with headers actually) but wide open it screams like a nascar.

The drone at 1500 RPM from my Stingers almost have me looking for a Z06 titanium setup.
I'm considering installing the Random Cats that I just ordered and seeing if they reduce the drone (most people say that they do). The Stingers have some of the best flow rates out there....the Z06 will be more restrictive....of course cats would be more restrictive also.
I found that the drone is almost non-existant at 80mph...but its more noticible around 70....of course it depends on if the top is on, and if the car is under load (up hill).
