I have a 02 LS1 convt 6sp. I would like to install a adjustable master cylinder. My questions are where is the best place to purchase one, Which one should I purchase and how hard is it to install? Thanks in advance...
I used the Ram adjustable master cylinder in my car and have been relatively happy with it.
I had a McLeod in my last car (f-body) and liked it more.
The ram doesn't provide any increase in fluid displacement, just allows for a longer (or shorter) pedal travel. The McLeod actually pushes more fluid per movement of the pedal than the Ram.
It really depends on where you want the pedal to sit to be comfortable driving. Mine is, to my taste, still too high but it's almost as low as the Ram will let it go and still work on my Spec clutch.
As for difficulty of install, it really wasn't hard, just time consuming. If you do it right, I don't believe you even need to rebleed the system when you're done. Though the bolt to hold it in were a bit tricky to get to it is manageable.
