A4 shifts
When lightly accelerating from a stop on my '01 A4 there seems to be 4 shifts occuring. The 1-2 and 3-4 are pretty distinct but it feels like there are 2 shifts in between those changes, one "softer" than the other. What's going on? Is it the TC locking up at some point that feels like another shift?

TC lockup occurs around 45 mph at light throttle. That's what you're feeling.

Under normal acceleration the car will shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd to od and then lock up. The lock can occur at different speeds depending on speed, rpms, and amount of throttle being used.

OK
I also notice a "shift" occurring at about 45mph, up and down, with light throttle acceleration and coasting. Is this the TC locking and unlocking?

I'll try again:
1. 1-2 shift
2. 2-3 shift
3. 3-4 shift
4. TC lockup
That be 4 events.

I'll try again.
If I'm coasting down, is the order of events:
1.TC UNLOCK
2.4-3 shift
3.3-2 shift
4.2-1 shift?
Thanks to all who responded!
