Steering Column Lock quick question

Default Steering Column Lock quick question
Ok read the sticky heres the deal, it tells me the 10 second message then service steering column lock but my steering is not locked? everytime i attempt to drive the car shuts down. Why would this message be there if the column is not really locked?

If you have had the recall done and have an automotic they removed the plate. Again, if you had the recall done it could be a bad relay on the k harness as I understand it.
