These wheels are painted with a color coat and then a clear coat. Bronze paint for Magnesium Sport Custom Wheels - Option code N73 - Paint code WA-EQ163D or GM paint code WAQ-163D or on touchup bottle from GM Goodwrench it is simply WA 163D. Any GOOD body shop should be able to help you unless, of course, the wheels are bent.
I am also looking for refinishing on the magnesium in the Houston, TX area. Any ideas? I was considering a short term touch up until then. Is there someone that sells a paint that would match the magnesium wheel?
boeckma,
I'm still searching for a good shop to do the work. The paint is available through GM. But getting the work done is another story. I understand there is a process required to paint magnesium where its required to be heated to a precise temp etc...
I've inquired at my local dealership with the service manager...but have not heard back yet. I will also contact a friend of mine from Montana...he's been doing ground up restorations on vettes for 25 years...he's bound to know someone, somewhere who can help...
Call Rocky Roads Refinishing at 281-373-1544. It is a family owned business and they do great work. I have had several wheels straightened and refinished there and was very happy. For comparison I have also had Vette wheels refinished at Wheels America in Houston but would not reccommend them.

I don't know how extensive your damage is, but unless it is pretty bad, you folks may be overcomplicating this deal. When my car was new, in my usual genius way I established the location of the right front corner by running the wheel into a curb. Yeah, well........
Anyhow, a really good shop here restored this thing PERFECTLY with the yellow "Magnesium" script intact using the paint that I noted above in about an hour, and since I go there a fair amount, they did it for nothing. Now this wheel was not bent, but there was an ugly two inch gouge down to the white undercoat.
