My first Drive... Clutch?
Hey guys,
Well we got the car registered and had the insurance put on yesterday, so I took it out for my first spin today, just to start getting use to the car.
Ive been driving the mustang for about 2 years now, which is a 5-speed, but the Vette is SO much different.
The clutch on the Mustang is very smooth, but the Vette's clutch jumps on me, I can't stop bucking it getting out of first gear, and in 2nd, 3rd, and so on, when I shift up and down, because of the jump in the clutch, it bucks a little too.
Any tips for me so I can get used to it?

give it some more gas and go a little slower releasing the clutch. you'll get used to it. some people might recommend against this but i like to skip gears. that helps a lot with smoothing out the ride.

Well the idle is much lower than my mustang too, it idles at like around 800 whereas my mustang around 1K.
So where do you guys launch from on the street? Right around 1.5 RPMs? Is that about right... For instance, how much gas should I give it?
Any other tips?
