MAF Sensor Question

I have heard conflicting viewpoints on the MAF Sensor Screen. Some people say remove it while others say it should not be removed. I have an '04 C5 and I took it off when I installed a K& N aftermarket air intake system. I have not experienced any problems or codes. what do you think? Thanks, Rich

Some people complain about a lean running car afterward. IMHO, for the 1/2 HP, it is not worth the time, trouble, or the $250 in breaking the MAF.

Unless you're on a horsepower crusade with a modded engine, where you're doing dyno tuning anyway, I wouldn't bother. Especially on the 2001-04 MAFS which are 85 mm.
