Help with two questions

Situation:
Driving hard, racing, hitting high RPMs in 4th or 5th gear (I forget which one), will rev limiter kick in if I dont shift prior to the max redline (not paying attention) and if so, does the symptoms of the limiter kicking in will it act like on a dyno and kick out...My rear end sort of snapped out for a split second until I let off.......
Second, what would cause a "ticking" sound as you accelerate?
My ideas are
exhaust leak
bad valve
bad springs
bad rockers.
(But sound is coming on acceleration I just hear a ticking sound that dont sound normal)
Any ideas would be appreciated!! Thanks all

The rev limiter will come in at the same set rpm. On my car 02Z it comes in at 6600 indicated which is probably 6,500. I think on your car it is lower by 500rpm. The rev limiter will not make the car walk sideways. It will sound like a stutter or backfire like sound. You say the noise your hearing is under acceleration and not all the time? You might want to get Charlie or one of the Z06 guys to listen to it the next time you hang out with them. They can tell you if it is normal or something to get checked out. Take care, Don
