Default Grinding...please help!

Hey gents, got a 2000 Hardtop. Just got back from deployment, fired the vette up and it is driving fine. But I noticed a strange "grind" noise after accelarting to ~5mph in first gear. Doesn't sound like a grinding gear, kinda like a metal rubbing sound. I tested out to see if the same thing happened if I started in second gear. No grinding sounds. I'm kinda worried about it, everything seems to be operating fine. Any people with similar problems or heard of this happening? What should I do?

Default Welcome home, and thank you for your service

Welcome home, and thank you for your service. Could it me some rust on your rotors or parking brake drum / disk? Could also be a little rust on your flywheel or the normal throw-out bearing noise as well. Mine does the same when it sits in the winter. Drive it for a few days see if it goes away is my suggestion

I saw on some other threads that this is normal...that the gears are cut straighter or something in the T56, which causes that noise in first gear.
