Just curious how much the handling was affected by the added weight. Especially interested if you run track days.
I am trying to decide to base my motor swap on a LS2 or a LQ9 block. Aluminum will cost roughly $1000 more for 65 lbs less weight, but I run a track day every 6 weeks so I think the extra cash probably be worth it.
In my 97, Its a non issue.........and I added a 6 point RB & Mini tubs to boot.
Autox, road race and drag races well, very predictable on street rubber.
No R compound..yet
Your oil temp will be higher, I see 235 on an average driving day....of course that is drivivng hard anyway 275 at the track(s). My next mod will be an EOC
Can't say if the weight would effect the handling enough to make a noticeble difference. You could offset some the weight on the front by moving the battery to the rear, tho.
