Default Problems with Oil Level Sensor?

Just wondering if anyone else has had issues with their Oil Level Sensor in their C5. I got the "LOW OIL LEVEL" on the DIC today and checked the oil numerous times before I left the house and it seems fine. I even waited a few extra minutes to let the oil settle back down, and still, the level is normal, but not according to the DIC. Anyone else experience this?

My plan of action is to try replacing the Oil Level Sensor on the oil pan. Any other thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Justin

reset the message, the only time i've changed the oil level sensor is when swapping out motors, not a common fail item

btw-if you plan on swapping the sensor, drain the oil first

I did reset it, numerous times and I still have plenty of oil. Hmm....

Thanks...I know about the oil draining, may wait until the next oil change to do it since I know I have plenty of oil.

Add a 1/2 of quart of oil see if it still shows after a day.
My car has done this a few times after we changed my headers and intake and went with newer style dipstick.
When changing my oil my car takes 6.5-7 quarts of oil.

You have to go through several (not sure of the number) good ignition cycles (re-starts) to reset the low oil indicator.
