Shocks and sway bar I keep hearing, but I have nothing to compare it to (no other vette owners w/ newer suspension/sway bars in my area that I know of).
Z06 sway bars were an enormous improvement on my f45 car (same springs as yours). You'll also need metal end links if your car is an 01 or older. I'll let others talk about the shocks, because I'm still using my originals.

Dude! The are like majorly easy to install! Seriously, if you don't want to turn your own wrenches, the labor to have these installed is not much at all. They are easy to get to and only take a short time.
Now, as for shocks, I would recommend the C5 Z06 shocks. Don't always think that cheaper is better here though.
1st, ZO6 sway bars
2nd ZO6 shocks (2004 or 2006, both work great)
Both sway bars can be done in 30 minutes with ramps.
All four shocks won't take more than two hours.
That will be a major improvement. If you still wan't better handling, I suggest Z51 or Z06 springs. These are more difficult to install though. Depending on your tool selection and experience, you may want to have these professionally installed.
Funny you ask. I just finished installing a set of ZO6 sways and metal end links in my 01 FE1. Don't need power tools, but they help. PM me for the tools you'll need. Took about 1 1/2 hours, first time.
