Column lock fixed, and IPC goes berserk
Had my column lock fixed yesterday. Everything went fine. However, the service manager said I have to bring it back to have the instrument panel cluster of gauges replaced.
Seems when they were downloading updated software into the computer, the gauges went berserk. They no longer work. When I start the car up, the thing lights up like a Christmas tree, but nothing registers (no RPM, MPH, oil and temperature). The DIC reads, constantly, "reduced power." The service manager called GM and they said they were aware of the problem and will ship out a new panel of gauges.
Anybody else have this problem? Thanks in advance.

no, but it sounds like a complete nightmare!
C-5 Tech - as it was explained to me, the dealer installs updated software received from the factory as the car comes in. He can check if my software is the latest available. If not, he loads it on. That's all I know. It's possible that all he's doing is testing my software with the latest from GM. However, he did say, load updated software.
