im thinking of changing my clutch out in my c5. could someone that knows tell me how long it should take and if its a very difficult job? all i know about it so far is a rear mounted tranny. so is it as simple as pulling the plate off the bottom of the car, then the drive shaft, bell housing, and switching the parts? . any help and advice will be very appreciated, thanks

Kinda like that...but it's all attached to the rear cradle and you drop that, torque tube and all.
Timewise...on a lift 5 -6 hours on the floor and jackstands - double that...
Ive never changed one,but did one in 944.On it I left the trans axel together & uncuppled the torq tube from bell housing & moved both to rear on gater jack. That was quicker for me,& this set up appears very similar...This way you only have to disconnect minimum stuff....
mines up on jackstands right now installing a set of long tubes..I keep looking up at thebell housing thinking I should do the clutch ,even though I have no slipping, but not sure how many miles been put on this one...2nd owner. But then I look back at the rear assembly the 36 bolts holding the torque tube cover on , and my stomache knots up.
So, I haven't finished my LT'S yet going back and forth on the clutch dilema...I guess removing the LT'S again one day when I get slippage won't be so bad , right?
