Default Very Strange Leak!

I brought my 01 coupe in to the stealer this morning for my rear end that had starting leaking again. They just called me and said the whole rear end is totally dry on the out side! The service writer went with the tech to check, and he said there was no sign of a leak at all! I went into my garage and the fresh stain is still there & it is definitely rear end fluid. I did notice that the original drips I saw yeterday, Mon morning, are all that is there. I drove the car yesteday all day, in 110 degree heat, and when I got home it did not leak again. ??

Anybody have any ideas? Maybe it seald itself back up? I do know that I am about 200 miles shy of the dealer warranty to expire since the last rear end leak fix.

I dont know what to think. I DO know that within another week the warranty will be expired and if the leak pops up again, I may have to pay for the repair, actually $100 for my deductable on my purchased warranty when I bought the car.

next time, have the tech show you the nice dry diff, you can't be passive with the dealer

does the fluid smell repugnant? if yes, then back to the dealer

Make sure it didn't all leak out.Check the oil level. But then again they said it was dry underneath the car.

I thought the same thing for a moment, but I look under the car just about every day, knowing how the rear end leak will come back evetually. I will just have to keep an eye on it. At least the dealer did'nt charge me!
