I had a 99 Grand Prix GTP give the same code, intermittently, accompanied with a rough idle. It was the intake manifold gaskets dried out and cracked on one bank. I found mine by hooking up the Predator tuner for the ‘vette and reading the O2 sensor. When I hit the spot with the soapy water the O2 numbers dropped to normal. You can try spraying the intake gaskets with carb cleaner. If you have a leak, idle speed will increase.
