Need some help overheating
Working on a friends 99 Vette.it has always had overheating problems. When running car hard it will boil over. During normal around town car runs in the 200 area. Checked the usual things Fans operate normally, high and low speeds.Car has new dewitts radiator,new water pump,thermostat170, hoses are good. No external water leaks. Did find that there is no pressure build up in the surge tank.when the cap is removed. Pressure checked the tank connected to the system and it held 16 PSI . Checked the cap with the pressure tool and it checked good. It sure seems like the tank or the cap is sucking air. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
