Has anyone who has a Powerloader II ever taken their car in for work to a GM dealer and found out that they reflashed the PCM back to stock without writing it on the work order or telling you?
I took my C5 into my local dealer for the SCL fix. They also found my rotors were warped and fixed those. I know the tech must have had to drive my car to test the rotor fix before and after.
When I got my A4 car back it didn't quite feel the same shift and rev wise. Didn't seem to rev quite as high in each gear as before.
Is there anyway to really tell if I'm still powerloaded or not?
Is there any harm in reflashing with my powerloader if it has NOT been reflashed back to stock?
Dealer reflashed mine. I was not sure when I picked up the car but it did not seem to have the jump. I reflashed it and could see the difference! Just reflash it to be sure, you will see the difference if they did. :D
It's funny, but I'll bet that the dealers are reflashing because they think something is "wrong" with the PCM when they go for the old test drive to make sure everything is ok.
I bet they feel the tranny difference with the PL and think "better reflash the PCM just to make sure".
Re: Powerloaded C5 reflashed by dealer?? (spookyp)
The purpose of the reflash procedure is to install an updated calibration into the PCM to address a specific concern. When doanloading the calibration,a list of the updates and what it addresses is listed. There is only an updated calibration for the 1999 model year C-5...and I cant see why a tech would waste his time doing the reflash procedure unless he was trying to address a particular complaint. We dont do reflashes, just because...but hey,you never know ;)
