Nail in the tire :( What to do?
This sucks! Brand new set of tires :cuss
Tonight I start driving and notice DIC showes one tire is 3psi lower than usual (What a great feature BTW!!! ) So I get home and closely look over the suspect tire. Sure enough there’s a small nail in it :(
Now I don’t know what to do about it.
Regular “plugging” is out of the question.
I know you can dismount the tire and patch it from the inside, but how safe is it?
I like to do occasional 150MPH+ blasts and not sure if patched tire is really a good idea.
What do you think?

One patch is generaly okay. And the speed rating is maintained. For the Run Flats, Goodyear requires a combination plug patch. AKA an umbrella patch.

My opinion...buy a new tire if you want to go 150 sometimes.
I just got a nail in one of my tires, just replaced it, my safety is worth more than the cost of a new tire.
Plus, I get the peace of mind of knowing all 4 tires are in perfect shape. :smash:

For daily use, a patched tire should work out fine. For 150+mph applications, I would purchase a new tire. It just might save your life.

Have anyone of you guys ever had a properly installed plug spit out?
Anyone?
These nail in tire questions are the same every week. I have repaired maybe 20 tires with plugs and have never had one dislodge. This includes many tires I drove until bald. When you install a plug, it mushrooms on the inside. I have plugged many tires on my past sports cars and trucks and never had a problem with them coming out.

Alright, I’ve decided to say “F**k it” and get new tire.
Don’t wanna sweat it next time I wanna set new top speed record :D :D :D
Safety is more important than $$$. :yesnod:
Especially since the tires are brand new (no matching issues). If I had used up like ˝ thread already I’d probably just patch it up from the inside and take it easier ;) ‘till they wore out.
Thanks for everybody’s input!
BTW: Do you think anybody will be interested in almost brand new (a few hundred miles), but patched tire for like ˝ price or less? If not I guess I could keep it as a spare….
