Default Key FOB problems

Would anyone by chance have much experience with intermittent key FOBs or the remote receiver unit for the FOBs and tire pressure sensors?. I have intermittent reception, rather the key FOB tends to unlock the vehicle; however very rarely will lock the vehicle. Furthermore the trunk release function generally fails to function despite replacing the battery in the FOB. What leads me to think that it is the receiver in the vehicle is that I have much greater success in locking the vehicle via the FOB after I hit unlock (which activates the unlock mechanisms) button, than when only pressing the lock button. Also if I shut the door on the vehicle the lock function will tend to work more regularly. I do however have to cycle the button many times with poor chance of success. The tendancy and circumstances in which the FOB unlocks and lock the door leads me to think that the receiver might be problematic as I have replaced the battery in the FOB. The system has previously functioned fine and I do not think the transmitter has experienced any "trauma" which might affect its performance.

Does this sound like a FOB transmitter issue or perhaps a receiver unit issue?

Thanks.

you might want to test the new battery........... use a tester that loads it as open circuit voltage will most always look ok.
a bad new battery is a very nasty thing but it does happen all too often
