I have a 2001 C5 Vert with 50,000 mi and have been experiencing problem raising my headlights. They turn on even when closed when I turn the control ****; but open as they should about 5 out of 10 attempts. Seems it may be an electrical connection. Any ideas exactly where I should look for this type of inconsistent behavior?
It might be the gears in the motor. GM uses crappy nylon gears so they tend to break real easy. I know Mid American and Ecklers sells the brass gears for it. I have the same problem with mine, I just havent put the brass gears in yet.
I just started having the same problem. I have new brass gears, so thats not the probem, and I have removed and cleaned both the pos and neg on the battery. I guess I'll keep looking.

I'd try to reseat the connections to the motors.. I see you already have the Brass Gears..
I just had the HID kit from NOT-MEE installed. Nice kit by the way However now I have an intermittent pop up problem. I reset the #3 fuse and they work...once. Any ideas why that gets them up but only that time?

You need to look at all connections especially grounds near the battery for the kit.
What is the voltage in your battery?
I know you had a shop install them but did they change any of the harness configuration.
Look at the power connection at the fuse box.
Then look at the ground next to battery.
Did they follow my instruction or did they decide to wing it.
I will take her back and have the shop check thier install. It maybe my inagination but the radio clock seems to be lagging as well. You are probably correct about an improper ground. I'll let you know.
I had the same problem in my 97. The one of the wires going to the brushes on the motor had come off and was only making contact every once in a while. Fun part you have to buy a whole new motor. I found brushes to replace the bad one but could never figure out how to get the motor back together. Couldn't figure out how to hold the brushes back and slide the armature back into the housing??
it was only a loose ground cable at the battery. Apparently the shop left it finger tight and it finally came so loose that my car wouldn't start. As I clipped the charger's neg. clamp onto the terminal I noticed it. Now everything works just fine.
