So I recently upgraded my Vararam to a B2. During the install I went through the same aggravation I did installing the 1st one...
Adjusting the spacers and bolting where the intake plenums mount to the bumper. This seems to be the hardest part of any Vararam Install..
I decided to try something....
LEAVE THEM OUT
I left out the two inside bolts on each Runner.. I only attached the ONE bolt that goes on the side next to the fog lamp. It's now like a Slip Fit connection.
It was a piece of cake now to slide the Radiator shroud back in. Also it made the airbridge fit PERFECTLY even though I am using a Green Racing Filter...
If you really think those scoops are going to move without the 2 bolts and spacers holding them... Guess again...
This thing is SNUG!
Even without the bolts.. The scoops have NO spaces in them when looking into the front of the bumper... It's Perfect..
Here are shots of the Runners
Here is a shot showing how the Airbridge fits Perfectly flat and can use the factory grommets..

Did it help any w/ filter installation/seal issues? I barely got the filter sealed on my B2 w/ the green filter. The lower section actually has tension against the shroud.

Yes... Because the entire plenum can be pulled up a bit now.. I can FULLY seal the top with the filter in it over the Plenums..
Yeah, it's kinda wierd... like not seeing the forest through the trees.. There is so much plastic to act as a slip fit that it works great.. I am surprised I am the only one to try this...

Don't worry brother, you aren't alone. I installed my B2 when they first came out sans screws.
I also upgraded to the new filter a few weeks ago, but never had any fitment issues.
Chuck, how'd that little red car you were polishing come out?
That buffer did an insane job!

Red Car came out great... Sold it last week for $1600.. when I picked it up.. It was worth.. $200...
Glad to hear you had the same experience losing the unneeded screws...
Do you have any pics from the front end of the vehicle? I don't like the looks of the rivets inside the air ducts. I want to get the Vararam, but don't want the car to look hacked up from the outside. Pics would be greatly appreciated. James
Speeaking of Vararam installation... I just bought a new VR B2 and the directions that come with this thing are horrible. Besides the tip you gave, got any more before I start installing the VR?
