There is a comany that makes a little power cord that you can plug into the auto dimming rear view mirror for power to your radar detector. This is most convenient if you mount your detector to the mirror or upper windshield.
I use the Great Lakes Trophies one combined with an Invisicord on my
V-1
Same here - great combo, but the prongs of the Invisicord don't sit very tight in the rear view mirror plug and they're a pain to get back in there. I'm getting my V1 hard wired but will keep the rear view mirror mount.
The mirror power would be so cool, but there alot of complaints about this hook up. I may just run a long cord around the windshield frame and under the dash.

If you know which wires to use under there that is the best method!
You guys are making this way too complicated. Just get a 5-6" metal strap, and drill a hole in the mirror mount base to hang your detector. I painted mine flat black, so it's virtually invisible. To wire directly to your mirror power, you just need one of those cheapo testers that most people have for use around the house. Find a power, and ground wire that only works with the ignition on, and in first gear, and wedge the two-wires from your detector. The whole thing is real easy, and free. You'll have to experiment a little to get the strap the right length, but that's about the most difficult part.

Yea ..... it was a pain to get one of the leads inserted. Mine keeps jiggeling loose.....and I have to reach up there and push on it a little.

If you have a problem with my products, please let me know and give me a chance to remedy the situation. If we cannot, I am willing to do a refund. Every harness is different, so the tolerances are not so much with my connectors as it is with the factory wires and harnesses. I also supply a zip tie that will put constant pressure on the connectors as well as protect the cord against any instances where your detector falls off the mount.
If you would like to do something about this purchase, please PM me. I have a very high success rate and satisfied customer base, so it dismays me a bit when I hear there is a problem.
