Does your stock C5 normally run without setting DIC codes?
There have been numerous posts about DIC codes (trouble codes ) setting and was wondering if a stock C5 normally runs without tripping codes. Mine seems to run without codes tripping. This pole assumes that all related component problems have been repaired. Therefore the following pole:

I hope these questions are not too foolish:
1-Would I see any codes on my DIC without having to toggle thru any buttons or would they simply show up upon starting the car for example?
2-If so which buttons?
3-If I did notice any codes how would I clear them?

My guess is that communication codes are fairly normal. Although I have not received any for quite a while. I did get a 02 sensor code the other day.

Despite numerous modifications to my car, these posts have me worrying that I have not had any DIC codes at all. Perhaps there is something wrong with my setup. Should I worry about it?

You will almost always have codes in the DIC. All of the sensors "talk" to the computer at once. Sometimes some of the sensors don't get "heard", hence the codes. :chevy

I get a few codes- mostly communications - from time to time. Did you know that you can go through the DIC check codes procedure while driving?

Ever since I allowed the gauges and DIC to stop moving after I turn on the ignition I get no codes unless I have had a real problem. The communication codes go away after you follow this process completely in my case at least. I HATE codes :smash:

mine trips ALL the time. Not bad though . I have some mods that cause it (drag radials in the rear without any rear tire sensors). Sometimes when I first start it after it has been cold I get a "redcue power.." code , but I just turn off and restart and it is gone. That has something to do with my nitours safety gear ( I had to splice into the TAC and the TAC will throw that reduce code).

No codes here either, unless I cause them myself. I got reduced power and all that stuff when I started it after I hit the rev limiter big time blowin away a Mustang GT, but that is it.
Even with the mods and removing the MAF screen, I never get any codes. Guess my car was build on a Wednesday.
