Default Do I Have a problem?

I threw a code-P1870. Code is "Transmission Component Slipping"
The light came on going down the Interstate-all fluids were at operating temp. I didn't do any burn outs/ hard shifting-normal driving.
DO I HAVE A PROBLEM

Thanks-"Wild Bill"

Ok an other guys with 0 reply.

I had that code a few weeks ago. I had the tranny rebuild and I was still getting the code after a few days. They replaced the TC solenoid, was ok for a few days and the code was back. Finally they removed the valve body and told me that the TC valve was not moving freely. As opposed to the old turbo 350 the 4L60 LE has an aluminum valve body. It takes only a small debris (as clutch debris) and it makes a scratch in the valve cylinder then the valve is not moving freely. They grind the cylinder to remove the scratch and everything has been fine since then.

So in summary have the valve body inspected before going for the big job. Also if the oil is not burned, this is a sign that the clutches are not worned out and point to solenoid or sticky valve body.

Give a try to the valve body before you go there….
