Repairing Windhsields with HUD
Can rock chiped/cracked windhiels be repaired. I think the windshields with HUD is softer as I think I remember reading that before. How big an area can be repaired. It doesn't matter if optical clearity isn't good as this is at the base of the windshiel and not in line of sight.
Its a chip with radial cracking about the size of a half dolar coin.

I just had one done about the size of a dime. I have an 04 with HUD. Fortunatly it's not in a real noticable spot. Came out okay but you can still see a ghost of it. Cost thirty bucks. The glass guy said it's best to fix them sooner than later. Good luck and Happy Vetting!

I've already had three cracks/chips in my windshield repaired, but none of them that big ( largest was about the size of a nickel). A windshield repair guy probably will tell you he can't "guarantee" the crack won't grow, but if it isn't that noticeable, it's cheaper than a new windshield.
