So which one would make the most power? Halltech being the tric or trap set up ( though I'm not sure about the difference in the trap and the trick). Any advice would help. Oh yeah please PM me if possible, as I'll be away from my computer and may loose the thread. This place fills up fast, thanks for the help, Kendall.

The TRAP is the Haltech Warhead filter fitted behind the license area so it gets cold air from the fog shrowd area or thru the Tunnel wihch is the license area opened up.

There are a lot of choices available that are well made will provide power increases. From my research on CAIs the two that make the most power are the Vararam and the Callaway Honker. The Vararam seems to have a slight edge so if I was racing my C5 I would prob go with it, but there have been many complaints here on fitment and overall quality. It is one of the intakes that was actually engineered for max flow, not just eyeballed.
The Callaway is a completely new design developed by the Callaway engineers using ProEngineer software for max flow and velocity. It is a quality part, very well made with a huge filter area. It also relocates the MAF up in front of the throttle body for improved laminar flow. All in all a very well thought out and tested unit. Callaway has designed many racing engine intakes so they have the experience in house and I have been to their facility in Old Lyme, definetly a class act.
check out the raptor system...largest filter on the market and comes complete filter to the intake complete bolt up ..i love mine easy install no codes comes w/coupler to replace the accordian style
The Haltech I just received seems like the biggest piece of crap ever. IMO, it's a waste of $300. My Zip Tie mod is 100% better looking and has done well for me at the track. I wanted something with a better look and if I got extra performance, so be it, but Haltech is not it. Again, this is just my opinion for what it's worth.
Vararam or Honker would get the most gains I believe. I just would not put up with the quality issues and questionable filtering of the Vararam, so I went with the Honker and am very pleased.
Thanks guys. I just got an offer on a vortex an coments?
I had a Vortex on a previous car. It's decently made and I had no complaints with it. On my present car I now have the Honker. This is probably the best made intake you can buy, and it works.
I've had a Honker on my 04Z since May of 2005. I think it's the best CAI out there. I've tried others, but this is the best, in my opinion.
Here's why I like it:
1) high quality, fits like an OEM system
2) good power increase
3) good filter, no air leaks
4) relocation of MAF close to throttle body
5) no CEL or codes
I just checked the filter this week to make sure it was clean, and while I had it apart, checked my throttle body. It was absolutely spotless inside.

I believe the Halltech Tric is the best CAI system out there to give you the best possible hp increase. Ranger has used this CAI and has provided the best times while using this particular piece. The Tric was discontinued due to the fact that you could possibly hydrolock a motor while using this intake going through high water. This is also possible with other systems out on the market too. One thing about Halltech is that they use real people and show actual track/dyno times as compared to some others out there that only use estimated gains.
