Default Need Help Choosing Mod Direction

I have a 98 coupe with 80K miles that I'm considering doing a few mods. I'm currently in Fl. and will be moving to MD in a few weeks although the car will remain in FL. until December unless I find someone to do the mods in MD.

My questions are:
1. Do my car have too many miles to do engine mods. The engine is excellent conditon and the car has never been raced or abused met both previous owner. ( I noticed most of the modded vettes have very low miles)
2. Don't want to put more than 10K in car. Already Spent $3300 on HRE 540 Wheels and tires.
3. I'm not interested in having my car dynoed for performance numbers.
4. I like a cam that has a little lift that will give the car a nice tuned sound. Not interested in changing exhaust other than adding headers if i choose not to go turbo. I will add headers if I go with a supercharger.
5. The car will be used to crusie and to attend different events. The car will defitnitely be driven so whatever setup I choose would have to be reliable.
6. I do understand how the mod bug works and i may want increase horspower later or get a little radical. i don't need 500hp which is nothing compared what I've read on this forum. Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

For what you want to do a good set of heads, cam, LT Headers and LS6 intake should keep you in budget and if your car is not an big oil user you should be fine doing some mods

I went with LS6 heads and LS6 cam, LS6 intake, 30# injectors, LS6 oil pump, UD pulley, headers, blackwing air filter, 160 Tstat, hi-flow cats and an X-pipe with ZO6Ti Exhaust maybe change your rear end out if you have a 2:73....and a good dyno tune...
runs great and no compremise to the engine that has 59K miles on the clock.
These engines are good for 200K miles if treated right.
Good luck
Rsty

I agree. I've got 70k on my car with only bolt-ons and I am also going to add heads / cam in the future. You can do all that for a few grand whereas a turbo or Maggie would run you over 10k. You could probably do a centrifugal supercharger for a little cheaper than the Maggie because you wouldn't need a new hood...

Why would you not be interested in Dyno-Tuning.

Without a good tune any $$ you spend on performance mods is wasted. In fact you may actually lose power by not tuning after installing a cam and other mods.

What I meant by not wanting my car dynoed for performance numbers although, nice I would not have a need to know that the car is making 350rwhp and X amount of torque. I have no intentions of racing. I don't have a problem putting the car on the dyno to tune it and i didn't know that dynoing these car is how they are tuned after mods. I'm being educated as i go along and thanks to all of you that took the time to make suggestions and give a feedback.
