Need more Slip DIff info
Does anyone know what the small chimney is that sits on top of the diff, the one ive spotted is on the drivers side and sits 1inch inwards from the top cover bolt.
It seems to be very loose, is it ment to be like this as it appears that this is wear my Diff is leaking from.

Vent?
How much is it leaking? Is it just damp? I believe that you are talking about the vent. It should have a little cap on it that is loose (you can rock it back and forth).
If it's just damp your ok.

clean the area first. then confirm where its leaking .are you over filled?did you service it lately [foaming oil] ? last resort if its from vent an old off road racing trick:remove vent cap 3/8 hose about 2ft long attach it to vent pipe then coil hose ABOVE rear and zip tie
