Default Factory Anti-Theft Module

I am installing an aftermarket security system and would like to know the location of the factory alarm/door lock module. I have the factory charts for all color-coded wiring and locations, but nothing about the control module. Any help is much appreciated.

The door lock box is in the door.

Most of the factory security in our cars is handled by the BCM (Body Control Module) which is located in the passengers foot well. It is the big shiny box on the left. I wouldn't think there is going to be much to hook there though, since most of the factory system talks on the serial buss between devices. For example when the BCM wants to check or control the door locks it sends a command on the serial buss to the door control module which will then activate the door lock motor. The door control modules and lock motors are located in the doors.

Thanks SpeeedyZ. According to the factory wire color charts, that location houses most of the other modules connected to the alarm control operations. First place I will check. Much obliged.

Let me know if you need any wiring diagrams or pinouts of the C5 systems.

I have a '98 coupe. The security light stays on intermittently after I start the car. I have reseated the connectors on the BCM, but it is still acting up. I have noticed in this forum that some have the opinion that the factory AC Delco battery may be the suspect. The terminals look clean and are tight and the battery has a "green" charge indicator.

"Anyone had the same problem?"
